Police Chief Pleads Innocent In West Virginia Sex Case

Gauley Bridge Police Chief Lee Jones pleaded not guilty to 53 sexual offense counts in Fayette County after a three minute arraignment. A trial was set for Aug 24 with pre trial motions due five days prior. Jones faces charges linked to three alleged victims over 1983 to 1997 and a separate Myrtle Beach case. He remains free on bonds and is on administrative leave.

No takers in Montgomery City Hall auction

Montgomery AP. City Hall auctioned Monday in the tiny town but no bids were made. City administrator Sandy Cole called the event disappointing as about 2,300 residents attended without any buyer for the 75-year-old three story brick building. Mayor Jim Higgins aimed for at least 75000 for police gear and road repairs. Council meets June 9 to decide next steps after the move to a new town building.
