Welfare fraud case dropped by judge after 10 years

Fayette County Circuit Judge John Hatcher Jr dismissed a 10 year old indictment against Carol J. Treadway, saying DHHR bureaucratic failure led to the case. The 1988 charge accused her of withholding earnings from Ames Department Store while receiving benefits.

Powerball jackpot grows to 95 million in Iowa drawing

In Des Moines, the Powerball jackpot rose to about 95 million after no ticket matched all six numbers in the latest drawing. Drawn numbers were 11 16 21 23 36 and Powerball 37. A West Virginia ticket matched five numbers plus Powerball but won 100,000 dollars. sold at Liquors and More in Princeton, the claimant had not yet claimed.
