The Object of My Affection review misses the mark
A film adaptation of Stephen McCauley novel aims for romance but wanders between drama and comedy. Paul Rudd as George and Jennifer Aniston as Nina lack spark, while supporting turns by Allison Janney Alan Alda and Steve Zahn offer brief relief. Direction, tone, and script fail to sustain the book’s wit and poignancy.
