Four N C men pay fines for illegal deer killings in Summers County

Four Winston Salem men Todd M. Martin Curtis R. Wills Michael L. Wills and Melvin L. Wills paid fines and costs after being charged with illegally killing seven does in Summers County during a bucks only season. They faced charges for illegal taking possession and transport of wildlife with no jail time.

Stolen car charges dropped for Raleigh County men

In magisterial court two of three Raleigh County men faced charges tied to a stolen vehicle ring. John Mitchell Lane, 36, and Steven Meadows, 35, had counts for receiving and transferring stolen property dismissed after the state moved to drop the case. Aric R. Scarbro, 21, remained charged with grand larceny auto, with about 85 000 dollars worth of vehicles and parts recovered. Scarbro is free on ten thousand dollar bond.
