Dearest folks I have written several letters home the war is over and I hope I go home soon. I finished gas school and am now a gas officer. My company is in Germany and I expect to go there shortly visiting Chalons Chaumont Dijehn Torneri and Paris. We then head toward Metz Luxemburg and Belgium Join the army see the world. The three months old daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Kallie is seriously ill. Albert Leroy works for Mra Shultz. Andrew Leroy and wife were Red Granite callers last Monday. Mrs Andrew Johnson and Mrs Lewis Taylor helped care for the sick child at Frank Kallin'a last Monday.

Local Hero Corporal Betteen Marsh Killed in Action
Corporal Betteen Marsh of Kenosha died November 10 1918 in the final days of World War I while serving with Company M 128th Infantry. He was 15 to 17 years old and among the youngest Kenosha soldiers, having joined at recruiting age with his family recalling his ambition for world democracy. He fought on five fronts including Fismes and Lorraine, and was buried in Redgranite area following the war. His death is announced to his grandmother Mrs C H Cady who had cared for him.
