Toddler Derby Added To 1973 Tehama County Fair
The Tehama County Fair adds a first annual Toddler's Derby to the 1973 schedule. The free event for nonwalking children starts 6 30 p.m. July 21 on the Gem and Mineral Building lawn in Red Bluff. Entries accepted at the fair office with no charge.

Planners Set Special Meeting On Use Permit Request
A special Planning Commission session is called for Tuesday at 7 30 p m to consider Joe Arnold request to build a residence in a C 1 zoned commercial area on Solano Street. City Clerk Lillian Hagan said the meeting will last about 15 minutes in City Hall council chambers. Regular meetings of the airport commission and library are cancelled next week with the library rescheduled due to the Fourth of July.

Non Injury Accidents in Tehama County Reported
Two non injurious accidents were reported by the California Highway Patrol in Tehama County. Larry Burkett of Redding escaped injury when his car overturned on State Route 32 south of Route 36 to avoid an oncoming vehicle. Lynn Foreman of Eagle Point, Ore struck a stranded bus while towing a half mobile home on Interstate 5 Kirkwood Road overcrossing. no injuries.

Prominent Rancher John Noland Dies in Tehama County
John Wilburn Noland age 65 a noted Tehama County rancher died unexpectedly while visiting friends near his Bowman area home. He served on the Tehama County Planning Commission and Lake Red Bluff Commission and was past president of the Tehama County Farm Bureau and Bowman Farm Center. A native of Colony Kansas he moved from Napa to Tehama County in 1950, was a retired dairy rancher and a member of Cottonwood Foursquare Church.
