A former Red Bluff man, Douglass Doerr, was in a Crocker Bank in Sacramento during a Friday robbery in which four employees were injured. Suspect David Floyd Calhoun and companions fled with $3,662. Calhoun was wounded by deputies. Police arrested three men, one juvenile, and two Oakland women for harboring fugitives. Doerr recounted a gun pointed at his head during the incident.

Police and Firemen Vote to Join Union in Red Bluff
Red Bluff police and firemen voted 17 to 0 over the weekend to join Operating Engineers Local No. 3. City manager Herbert E. Nelson said the union is now the employes bargaining agent and a notifying letter will go to the union. Three employees had not cast ballots when voting ended at 9 am. No city council action is needed. In Corning, police and staff voted 6 to 0 to be represented by the same union.
