Defense attorneys claim no knowledge of the whereabouts of Sulzer’s alleged dummy and state that Sulzer’s secretary was subpoenaed as a witness by impeachment managers.
Albany Sept 27 Chester Platte secretary to Governor Sulzer was subpoenaed as a witness for the board of managers in the impeachment trial. Judges did not convene today as Colwell the alleged Wall Street dummy remained unlocated. Sulzer aides admitted confusion over Peck Morgenthau and Croker Jr testimony on attempts to influence witnesses and unreported funds.
Deliberations in the Johnson assault case dragged through Friday into Saturday with no sign of a verdict. Judge Spencer granted a continuance in a separate State vs Parvin Kittrell matter, as the Johnson jury remained tied up and a large crowd filled the courthouse for the late session.
