Aviator Paul Peck of Washington, holder of the American duration of flight record, was fatally hurt in Chicago yesterday when a too steep spiral caused a fall to the ground. His heavy engine crushed him.
San Angelo reports the fly pest common in North Texas now appears in Tom Green County. Verbal notes say washouts near Amarillo delayed Denver trains in the Panhandle streets on September 12. Huguley Gin Company's new plant burned at night causing 10 000 pounds loss, with officers investigating at the owners' request.
Federal troops retreated from Agua Prieta and Ojinaga battles continued as forces mobilized. Reports confirm a 900 strong Mexican Federal relief movement from El Paso via Douglas with Yaqui Indians among the troops, while ammunition shortages persist at Ojinaga and Sanches remains in command at Presidio.

Gainesville dispatch reports Will Smith aged 14 shot and killed his father Will Smith aged 38 with a shotgun after a confrontation over missing cotton duty. Last night the father punished the boy for not picking enough cotton. this morning the boy, after the alleged whippings, grabbed the gun as the father tried to disarm him. The son then attempted suicide by drowning. The Smith family resided at Leo in Cooke County.
Rev William Nehemiah Wiggins state Sunday School secretary led a session at First Methodist church outlining elementary intermediate and adult divisions. He urged broader office use including temperance missionary and visitation roles and noted Dallas Haskell Avenue Baptist’s full membership in Sunday school. Dr W A Brown spoke on the boy and girl problem and missionary policy with sessions continuing into Thursday night.
