London dispatch reports Krimanova captured by Servians after heavy fighting on both sides. Turks reportedly suffered about 5 000 killed and wounded with twelve field guns lost. Servian artillery annihilated three Turkish cavalry squadrons.
War briefs report Bulgarians set part of Adrianople ablaze and claim three forts captured with 1,800 prisoners. They also say they seized Kotechnyj in a bloody clash. Conflicting dispatches question Kirk Killisseh’s fall and Turkish positions near Adrianople. Berlin circles speculate on a European conflagration from Balkan hostilities.
Dallas October 26 Miss Bernice Carter of Denton won first prize in the Girls Canning Club contest at the fair yesterday. Miss Lucy Whitmore of Garza and Miss Minnie Calvert of Lewisville won third and fourth prizes for canned tomato exhibits. Miss Cecilia Tompking of Denton and Miss Nora Proctor of Lewisville won second and third prizes for best exhibits of canned peaches.

R C Parker a well known farmer of Slidell was accidentally killed when his team and wagon ran over him on a road between Slidell and Krum. He was loading a wheat haul to Krum at about 8 am when the wagon passed Grandpa Coffey’s house and stopped. Parker lay in the road with the wagon wheels across his body and died before medical help arrived. He is survived by a wife.

John F. Light a sewing machine demonstrator at Shepard and Magill store was injured when an auto driven by W. T. Johnson struck him at about 4 PM on the northwest corner of the square. He suffered cuts and bruises and will remain in his hotel two to three days. witnesses say he leaped aside to avoid the impact.
