Edgworth French a 22 year old negro, well known to police, jailed Monday on a charge of aggravated assault after an incident on West Oak Street. Miss Edna Lester, 17, was accosted by a black man while on her way to work, struck in the chest, and frightened. officers later captured French and identified him as the assailant.
