The State files three district court actions against J. B. Thedford as principal and J. B. Watson W. D. Pockrus and J. H. Watson as sureties. Each case requests forfeiture of Thedford's bonds in the amount of 8500.

Father Thomas Hennessy a longtime priest of the Church of the Annunciation in Houston was found dead in the church this after noon after serving fifty years in the priesthood and thirty five years at the Annunciation parish authorities said.

The British battleship Iron Duke rescued thirty passengers and the crew of the burning steamship Scotsdyke in the English Channel. Passengers huddled on the stern as flames spread while the Iron Duke arrived.
