A letter from H. Dickerson of Oaxaca Mexico claims General Felix Diaz escaped prison by bribing guards and fleeing by boat along the coast. Also, in Waco Baylor routed Southwestern 13 to 7 yesterday.
Clifton Plunket, who killed 16 year old Irvan McWaters after her parents refused marriage, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in Huntsville penitentiary. The Nov 13 Associated Press dispatch notes the motive stemmed from a wedding license incident.
Officials named include A. J. Nance as President J. R. Christal as Vice President J. C. Coit as Cashier E. D. Curtis as Assistant Cashier with Ed F. Bates J. H. Paine A. C. Owsley and Dr. J. M. Inge listed among directors and officers.
County officers and many precinct officials filed new bonds as they prepare for new terms. Deputies are announced for reappointed and newly appointed offices. Assessor-elect Gary waits to qualify. A Cincinnati Hamilton and Dayton passenger train crashed into an open switch near Irvington, Indianapolis, at forty miles per hour, wreck catching fire. Fourteen dead, fifteen seriously injured, two hours to reach the wounded. Albert Seed of Louisville survived unscathed.
In Fort Worth on November 3 the jury pool for the J. B. Sneed trial was slow to form with only two accepted. Judge Swayne ordered longer sessions to speed the process and adjourned court until tomorrow afternoon as 200 talesmen were summoned. Two jurors were seated Tuesday afternoon, J. D. Crane and Walter Portwood, both farmers and married, near Wise county.
Ten passengers were injured when a southbound train from Houston to Laredo crashed near Linton early this morning. Three passengers were reported seriously hurt as crews worked to clear the wreckage and assist the injured.

In Madrid on November 13 the assassin Manuel Pardinas of Premier Canalejas remained alive and recovering from a self-inflicted wound. Pardinas is described as a distinguished man and a known anarchist. French police had warned Spain but officials did not know he was in Madrid.
Miss Glady Myers shot and killed her mother Elizabeth Myers in a Pullman berth aboard a Pennsylvania Railroad train before daylight. The daughter claims she woke to an intruder she mistook for a burglar and fired while half asleep. Elizabeth Myers died at a Trenton hospital. A male passenger, M R Cuthbert, was detained as a possible witness.
Washington veterans and citizens witnessed the United Daughters of the Confederacy lay the cornerstone of a large Confederate dead monument in Arlington National Cemetery. Corporal James Tanner of the G A R pleaded for end to sectional feeling, urged by Col. Hilary A. Herbert. W J Bryan gave the dedicatory address.
The State Normal school board of Regents with F.M. Bralley State Superintendent and president, a. & Goeth vice president, W. J. Crawford Beaumont, Peter Radford Fort Worth, W. H. Fuqua Amarillo, is in Denton at the Normal college for their annual visit. Dr. Bruce will make recommendations to the board for the next Legislature's consideration in the annual report.
President James McCrea of the Pennsylvania Railroad resigns. Samuel Rea, the vice president, will succeed him as head of the railroad. The notice is dated Philadelphia and dated November 13.
Charles A. Abrams, a side show manager known across Texas, died when his car overturned near Webster outside Houston this morning.
Squire McCormick of Justice Court No. 1 set bond at 500 in each of five forgery cases against Alva Wilkerson. Examining trial began after postponement to Nov 12 due to missing witnesses.
During testimony the defendant Wilkerson grew violent, cursed, and shrieked. The judge, deeming the defendant unrestrainable, ordered him sent back to jail.
Baltimore dispatch reports Bishop E B E Hoss of Nashville Tennessee is in Johns Hopkins Hospital with a nervous breakdown attributed to overwork.
