Heavyweight champion Jack Johnson was arrested by federal officers in Chicago on four Mann Act counts. He was found hiding in a hotel room guarded by four men. bail was set at 30,000 dollars and posted.
At Fort Worth on Thursday Edgar Kerr paid 6.40 dollars for five cars of choke feeders, breaking all previous high price records for feeders.
The sixty-fifth annual Baptist General Convention of Texas began in Fort Worth with about 5,000 ministers, lay leaders, women workers and visitors. R. C. Buckner was unanimously elected to preside for the twentieth consecutive time. The convention raised roughly $2,150 at night and about $1,000 for ministerial education during the afternoon session.

A Daily Mail correspondent from Bucharest claims Adrianople may have fallen, while Bulgaria withholds news to avoid powers intervention before Constantinople.
Blount Springs Alabama reports two bandits robbed a Louisville and Nashville passenger train this morning. The recovered amount is unverified. Police search the area for suspects as officials confirm the incident.
Le roy Jordan nine year old boy died this morning from burns from a blaze that destroyed two residences last night. His brother may also die as the other three injured recover.
Committees finalize plans for a Denton county Democratic celebration beginning at 7 PM at City Hall. A large parade will move west to Welch Street then south to Hickory, ending at the courthouse yard with speeches by Wortham, Rogers, and others.

New York November 8 Colonel Roosevelt announced a policy of silence and said he would not comment on the election. He stated he was feeling fine.
Late California figures show Roosevelt leading Wilson by a plurality with several precincts missing. Debs tops 70 000 in California while Taft trails with weaker results in Idaho Utah and Vermont. Others contest the missing districts as Iowa South Dakota and Wyoming remain doubtful.
