Paris reports Arabs in the Western Sahara yesterday killed fifty eight French soldiers of a military company. The French fighters held out all day until ammunition ran out as the unit was nearly annihilated in the desert encounter.
Washington reports President Manuel Bonilla of Honduras died yesterday in Tegucigalpa from kidney trouble. Vice President Francisco Bertrand succeeds him.
Exchange National Bank announces J. H. Paine Ed Bates Dr. J. M. Inge and A. C. Owsley as new names associated with bank affairs and counsel roles.
The board grants the Ladies of Park Commission authority to use surplus ground at the high school for city park purposes. The action secures grounds for the nucleus of a local park system and outlines possible future development.
The Park board secures a city park nucleus by using surplus ground from John B. Denton High school north of campus. A committee including Mrs. Blewett and others coordinated with the School Board to beautify the five to six acre site with aid from landscape expert N M McGinnis and Superintendent Beaty. Cleaning and debris removal on the Lee school grounds were authorized to be funded by the board.

Fort Worth dispatch reports Civil Appeals court affirmed breaking the Winfield Scott will by his daughter Mrs. Georgia Townsend of Denver. The estate valued at 3 million dollars, Scott dead eighteen months, contest directed against the second Mrs. Scott and her ten year old son. Sylvia Pankhurst, militant suffragette, won her hunger strike and was released from Holloway prison in London as authorities feared detention longer would endanger her life.

An Austrian naval squadron moves near the Montenegrin and Albanian coasts. Austria will issue further notes to Montenegro demanding that Scutari be left alone. If Montenegro replies unfavorably, the squadron may attack.

Washington March 22 Professor Willis L Moore chief of the Weather Bureau has resigned for reasons not disclosed He is a Democrat and said everything is all friendly He will retire to his farm after leaving the office presenting a quiet exit from the bureau
Washington reports that William F. McCombs declined the appointment as Ambassador to France and Dr Charles W Eliot is said to have declined the ambassadorship to Great Britain.
A damaged report notes a wreck near Dallas involving the Katy Flyer, with five sticks of dynamite found wedged in a frog and a southbound flyer delayed before arrival.
Five sticks of dynamite and a fulminating cap were removed from a switch frog on the Katy tracks six miles south of Dallas just before the southbound Katy Flyer passed. J W Pate, nearby at the crossing, heard two men vow to plant the device and drive west. Pate found the dynamite, flagged the Flyer with a red lantern, and rode to the city with the charge. A train man saw a buggy leaving the scene as the train stopped. The case remains unsolved.
Austin March 22 Neither House met with adjournments for memorial services while committees worked. A special message from Gov Colquitt warned of pardons to fund a self supporting penitentiary system and accused lawmakers of favoring special interests. The Senate approved redistricting and a state training school bill, while Denton may join the Sixth district under the new map.
