A resolution to be introduced calls for Jeff Steele a prison system employee in 1911 to testify before the House. Charles B. Dixon Jr., a U S Immigration agent shot in Juarez by Mexican soldiers, was released from Juarez hospital and brought to El Paso after a strong protest by Consul Ed wards demanding arrest and trial of the soldiers. The incident occurred when Dixon pursued a negro in a white slave case.

The accused, Tommy Lee, a Black man brought from Fort Worth after a mob escape attempt, was sentenced to death for the killing of Walter Moore. Prosecutors say he also killed Officer Ogletree and wounded three others the same night. Proceedings began Friday with a swift jury verdict after ten minutes deliberation.
At Wimbledon England on July 28 Maurice McLaughlin of San Francisco defeated Charles P Dixon in the fourth and decisive Davis International Cup match to give the United States the world championship title as seven nations competed.
Florence Brown 27, daughter of Patrolman Brown, was found dead with her throat cut in a Dallas real estate office lavatory. Blood spattered the room, water in the basin bloody, and a powerful assailant implied by knife wounds and near severed head. Police detained 25 young white men within hours. Miss Brown was active in church work.
