The thermometer ranged from 12 to 14 above zero Tuesday morning marking the coldest day of the season. Snow and sleet earlier blanketed the ground, but sun returned by forenoon after a wintry night. Separately an advertisement notes hosiery and underwear lines launching Jan 6 sold direct to trade from 123 W. Hickory.
Lawrence Rippy of Denton, after a car struck a train at Jennings street crossing, saved Venice Malone from falling under wheels. He was severely injured, with others including Ed Gambrell, Alice Loyd, Wis Per Marney suffering various injuries as three were badly hurt and three escaped bruises.

A hot water tank burst in the home of C. E. Fowler in Toledo as pipes froze, spraying water ice and steam through the kitchen. Mrs Fowler had just left the room. no injuries were reported. The top of the tank blew out with force. The ad mentions Hall's Catarrh Cure and F. J. Cheney & Co. by extension.
Nightwatchman Garrett Wells of Denton announces a health related lay-off after 1167 consecutive nights on duty. He notes five burglaries in Denton with three burglars arrested, while stating the lay-off will last a few weeks.
W B. Butcher and Miss Nora McCullar of Corinth were married Sunday afternoon at the home of Rev A. D. Rogers who officiated. A number of young friends were present accompanying them from Corinth.
