New York February 24 Winnitree Ankers was held without bail in Brooklyn court on a charge of poisoning eight babies at the Brooklyn Nursery and Infants hospital by oxalic acid in their milk. Detectives say she confessed. The woman asked the court to restore her baby.
Sheriff Orr reported a burglary at the Hebron post office in the county's southeast. About $175 in cash and $200 in stamps were stolen from the safe, with a loss discovered when the office opened Friday morning. No clues or traces were found, and investigators believe the robbery occurred around 2 o'clock Friday morning.
The Denton county clerk received the largest single batch of birth certificates from Dre Kirkpatrick Archer of Lewisville, totaling ninety reports. The firm requested an additional ninety certificates.
