Detroit February 16 The so-called bath tub trust was found guilty of criminal conspiracy in restraint of trade by a Federal District court jury. The act as charged carries a maximum imprisonment of one year and a fine of 5000 dollars or both.
A hotel in Fort Worth suffered 10000 in damage after a fire on the fourth floor was discovered early this morning. One guest was lured by the blaze, authorities said.
President Brooks of Baylor college at the constitutional convention in Dallas says statewide prohibition will be the greatest question the body will consider.
For Denton and Vicinity: Tonight and Sunday generally fair, somewhat colder, a light frost possible in rural areas. North winds shift to easterly later as highs reach the mid 40s with overnight lows near freezing.
Speaker Terrell announces adjournment until March 3 with attendance excused to March 8 due to a third meningitis case. One Travis County representative will stay to adjourn House daily if conditions worsen. J. C. Hunt of Canyon City is named the third victim with cerebrospinal meningitis.
In Austin six Senators attended a three minute Senate session. the House did not meet to honor the late Representative McNeal. The capitol was ordered cleaned after the deaths of Killingsworth and McNeal from meningitis. Gov Colquitt asked A&M regents for a hearing for expelled students. A Dallas ex-senator led a student delegation alleging denial of a hearing by the college board. State Health Officer Steiner notes one active meningitis case in Austin with twenty five total cases in three months.
Detroit February 15 The eleven defendants convicted yesterday in the bathtub trust case were fined amounts ranging from one dollar to ten thousand dollars each.
New York officials of the Firemen and Engineers Organization voted to reject the amended arbitration plan proposed by the roads last night. The action follows immediate union discussions and signals a stand on labor dispute terms.
The White Banking Co. safe at Wilmer near Dallas was dynamited this morning. About $3,000 was taken and the robbers fled on a handcar.

Two Denton residents Juan Manuel Flores and Antonio Salazar, veterans of the Mexican revolutions, describe their wartime service in Orozco and General Truce armies. Flores survived a head wound from the battle of Bichinba and now works for North Texas Gas, with Crain Mercantile assisting as interpreter.

Mrs Johnson born in Eldsfield South Carolina moved with her first husband to Missouri after marriage then to Texas where she lived forty years. Survived by son L O Tompkins and five grandchildren. three of her four children died. Interment followed at Odd Fellows cemetery after house services as friends honored the well known Denton pioneer.
