The New York bank Kuhn Loeb & Co. announces plans to help float a $25 million Austrian loan in the United States, backed by assurances of minimal risk of war among European powers.
Dublin reports that the Lord Lieutenant denies the claim that the Teland crown jewels, valued at £250,000 and stolen five years ago, have been returned to Dublin Castle. The jewels had multiple erroneous reports of recovery.
In Washington December 10 Senator Culberson announced his intention to nominate Murrell L. Buckner as postmaster at Dallas.

Frank Holloway a noted Texas and Oklahoma robber was captured in a night raid on the outskirts of Memphis by city detectives. Kinney Bergen, a famed safe blower, was killed in the same raid and two other men were arrested. Holloway had confessed to a $300000 Canadian bank robbery and previously escaped while being transported to prison.
Bridgie Webber, one of four Rosenthal case informers, repudiates part of his witness story arriving from Havana. He says no plot to kill Herman Rosenthal, claiming the gunmen went to the Metropole to fight Rosenthal, two got drunk, and the shooting followed.
The biennial report of the Registrar of Vital Statistics shows Texas had 115,428 births and 56,421 deaths for the two years ending August 31. Tuberculosis led deaths with 5,401, meningitis ranked fourth with 2,024, and smallpox stood seventh with 134.
Improvements at the municipal power pumping and lighting station reduced the Denton key rate by 15 cents, yielding an estimated annual saving of at least $6,500. The new rate of 39 cents applies to policies written after August 28 and earlier 14 cent reductions to October 28, with Mercantile and dwelling house rates adjusted by exposure. In Davenport England the British battleship Centurion rammed and sank an unidentified steamer today. Details of the collision remain unknown and no casualties are reported in the brief notice.

Dy J M Hanks and Mrs EB Donaldson of Blum visit Ruth Donaldson a Normal student ill with acute gastritis at Mrs Della Bounds home near the college. Ruth shows marked improvement and will go home this week. Dr Hanks shares Denton Normal enrollment figures about 2600 to be published in his home paper.
