A fine shower cooled the air with about three fourths of an inch of rain in Denton county on Thursday afternoon. Rain was heaviest southeast of town around Lewisville and Hortonville while Ponder and Mingo saw only sprinkles. Precipitation measured .69 inch at Legett’s gauge. Bolivar Sanger and Pilot Point got minimal moisture. Rain extended west to the Simpson place and again Friday morning at the Christal place, with Bascom Meadows reporting nearby showers. Countywide coverage estimated at about one third.
