AP dispatch from New Orleans reports hos tie pickets fully armed along nine opposing sides of the Atchafalaya river levee as the greatest flood in the river's history booms toward the Mississippi.
The 2000 acre Slaughter farm between Columbus and Eagle Pass has been sold to Columbus parties for 61000 dollars. The transfer was reported by Associated Press from Columbus on April 27.
A special reception committee outlines Senator Bailey's visit. He arrives on the Texas and Pacific train at 3 50 Sunday, is greeted at the depot, and hosted at the Cottage Hotel. Monday includes a 9 am serenade by the Normal band and a 12 36 luncheon for about thirty citizens before a 2 pm address at the Harrison Theater with Emory C Smith introducing him. Local bands provide music. Denton businesses close 2 pm onward and 1500 students attend.
Senator Bailey says he is out of politics for all time and predicts Bryan will bolt if pursued to the presidency. He supports initiative and referendum for any needed national government reform and barely mentions Texas politics.

Hon eera Sheppard arrived in Greenville to open his campaign for Len Bailey's former seat. Special trains from North Texas cities brought supporters despite threatening weather, with a large crowd expected to attend this afternoon.
In Greenville on April 27 Hon. Morris Sheppard declared his campaign to stay in the Senate race, attacking lavish campaign spending, calling for anti machine politics, and denouncing the liquor traffic and protective tariffs. He contrasted his modest campaign style with his opponent Jacob Wolters’s ties to the Pullman company and liquor interests.
A Denton county backing letter from the Woodrow Wilson campaign committee urges voters to endorse Wilson on May 1 1912. The document extols his southern birth education and record as governor including Direct Primary Law Employers Liability Law and Corrupt Practices Law. It lists numerous Denton county supporters and calls Democrats to vote Wilson.
A small crowd attended the county association meeting with Justin lodge on Friday. Lodges from around the county were represented and the day proceeded with the published program, though turnout was light.
