The defense rested after four witnesses and began one last witness the aged mother of Claude Cook. The trial moved toward a jury verdict with Judge Spencer delivering a short charge on murder. Testimony covered the shooting scene, the dead body of D B Hope, and nearby witnesses including Granville Kindred and W A Richards who identified Cook.
