Youth Receives Ind Degree Burns In Mishap
A 16 year old Mullens youth received second degree burns to both legs after a gas backfire during priming a carburetor. Robert Carr was burned when a gas can spilled onto him as Richard VanHorn poured gas into a car. The two teens doused the flames with jackets and rushed Carr to Wyoming General Hospital where his condition was listed as serious.

Brenton, Raleigh County. Mrs. Johnson, 18, badly injured when a 1954 car wrecked about 50 yards from a river bank. She suffered dislocations of both knees, possible fractures, a deep facial cut, bruises, and required artificial respiration after being admitted to General Hospital. Two men were fatally injured in a separate crash about 4:45 p.m. Thursday nearby.

Sunday Rites Slated For Accident Victim
Funeral services are planned for Marlin W. Lilly 33 of Baltimore formerly of Pipestem near Pipestan. Lilly died in a highway crash two miles north of Hot Springs Virginia at 10 am Thursday. Elders A I Neely and Own Harvey will officiate at Pipestem Knob Primitive Baptist Church with burial in Neely Cemetery. Lilly is survived by his wife Barbara A Jon Lilly a son and a daughter six brothers and four sisters. The body will be moved to the home Saturday from Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors.
