By Register Staff. Writer Fayet teville reports Mr. and Mrs Settle of Fayetteville host guests Mrs Settle's brother in law and sister Mr and Mrs F J Burdette from Woodbine Kansas as part of a social note.
Mount Hope Presbyterian Church will organize a church workers council Monday night in the Men's Bible Class room. Dr. W. W. Pharr Sunday school superintendent adult advisors choir representatives and church delegates debated the move at a Tuesday night meeting weighing pros and cons.
Wesler Henderson of Oceana, son of Mr and Mrs C B Henderson, was feted at a party prior to his departure to enroll at Marshall College Huntington for the winter term.
Mount Hope announces the marriage of Virginia Elizabeth Cope and James Massie of Sun. The ceremony was performed by Dr. James F. Frame at his Fayetteville home on September 13 at 7 p.m. The couple, both Mount Hope residents, are employed locally and reside in Mount Hope.
Bud Jennings, an instructor at the local high school, will address church youths Sunday night. His topic is Honesty.
Three deeds admitted to record at the county clerk’s office. G C Hedrick and wife to Raymond Osborne and wife, lot 71 in the Hedrick addition to Oceana, Oceana District. Burb Cline and wife to Claudia Chambers, 16.3 acres on Turkey Creek, Oceana district. Chambers transfers two tracts of land, 20 acres and 30 acres.
Robert Copeland of Oak Hill has appealed the arraignment outcome for driving while drunk before Magistrate W H Level. Rev O H Huffman of Oceana attends the annual Methodist Conference in Clarksburg.
Mrs. A Wilson Byer of Charleston is visiting her parents Mr and Mrs D W Hollinger in Pineville for a stay with family.
Mary Frances Carter and Russell Carter, a Brooklyn couple, reached a reconciliation at the office of Magistrate W H Level. Mrs. Carter returned home to care for their five children after being arrested for deserting them. The note also mentions a unrelated Army yeast in peanut butter incident.
Mrs J S Nunn hosted a First Baptist Church circle meeting and after adjournment the group visited Mrs Julia Cook widow of David C Cook at her home and presented her with a surprise pounding.
