Mullens WV area announces Thursday night Sunday School sessions led by Rev Paul Campbell and evangelist Rev Bill Ellis. The series features 9:30 am Pineville radio broadcasts, a 7:30 pm weekly service, choral groups, and visiting speakers. Mrs Ellis offers morning addresses and musical renditions as part of the church program. The church invites the community to attend and participate in the revival style meetings through the week.

Dorothy PTA votes to purchase a duplicator for the Dorothy school at a cost over 200 dollars. The machine will be kept in Principal T H Daniels office for school use. Mullens West Virginia native Miss Cargyn Thrasher, daughter of Mrs. Carrie Thrasher, graduated with a class of 20 from the Lewis Gale Hospital School of Nursing in Roanoke Virginia. She plans to stay on as a nurse at Roanoke hospital after weekend visit with her mother in Mullens. Thrasher, who finished Mullens High School in 1954, attended the graduation and reception at Hotel Roanoke on Sept. 5.
