Fayetteville county Fire Prevention Week chairman A B Abbot announced the observance October 3 to 9 at the county Farm Bureau meeting. A Farm Bureau membership drive was outlined with co chairmen B J Amick Rainelle and E L Booth Oak Hill. District captains named include B A Wright Long Branch J A Duncan Salem Mrs O E Tamptin Dempsey Mrs Hazel Wright Danese Charles Lair Lookout and W S Cavendish Hico. Last year 495 members. efforts aim to surpass that. The group backs a 54 million road program bond issue for secondary roads in the state. The meeting also covered community needs and current topics.
