Charleston West Virginia Blue Cross Hospital Service faces possible closure by mid next year if a requested rate increase is not approved. An out of state actuary from Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. warned the plan with 206,000 customers in 18 southern counties has only 17 million in reserve at year end third quarter and cannot cover longer than two to three months. A June hearing ended abruptly as Blue Cross officials walked out. the case moves to Kanawha County Circuit Court for rescheduled proceedings.
