State Asked To Join Southern Nuclear Development Compact

West Virginia is invited to join the Southern Interstate Nuclear Compact to foster nuclear development in the South. The move requires legislative approval and would form a board with one member from each state, with funding shared by party states and population and per capita income factors. Two B47 Bombers Collide En Route to Shannon

Linda Gayle Thompson 13 of Sandyville formerly of Tams Crab Orchard and Beckley was among six youths killed instantly near Ripley Monday night in a car truck crash. The group had attended a 4H meeting and were awaiting a PTA meeting when the accident occurred.
