Fall Victim's Funeral Set in Ansted
Vaughn Mead Skaggs 52 of Ansted killed in a mine accident at Art Coal Co. in Ansted. Funeral services set for Friday at St Faith Methodist Church Ansted with Rev Hobson Fisher and Rev Jarrell Daniels officiating. Burial at Oak Hill's Laxa Memorial Park. Skaggs survived by wife Edith, four brothers, five sisters, a step daughter, a daughter and two sons. Funeral home will transfer body to residence at 6 p.m. today.

Dr and Mrs BE Shannon and a family spent the weekend at Claytor Lake Virginia. Ronald Lee Roach left Tuesday for Charleston to visit his brother and sister in law Philip Roach Jr.

Mrs Guy Vaughn wife of the Ansted Baptist Church pastor was injured in a Wednesday automobile accident. She is a Montgomery hospital patient with a fractured vertebra. She rode as a passenger in a station wagon driven by her daughter Mrs Jean Marie Guy of Charleston.

Guy Curtis Cox son of Mr and Mrs Mason Edwight enlisted in the U S Marines for four years this week. He is at Parris Island S C in recruit training after attending Montreal High School this past spring. After 12 weeks of recruit training and four weeks of combat training he will have 15 days at home before assignment to a school or duty station.

Oak Hill funeral services for Charles Carl Rogusky will be held Friday at 2 p m in Tyree Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allen Galli more officiating. Burial follows in the family cemetery at Prosperity. Rogusky, 63, died Wednesday noon at Oak Hill Hospital after a long illness. He was a former New River Coal Co. employee at Whipple and a World War I veteran. Born March 3 1895 in Mount Carmel Pa he is survived by wife Florence two brothers George of Prosperity Victor of Cranberry one sister Mrs Anne Georgevich of Scranton Pa two sons Charles C Navy at Norfolk Va and Fred Lee Army at Fort Hood Texas and daughter Miss Rosetta Rogusky of Scarbro. The body will remain at the funeral home.
