Double murder victims laid to rest in Fayette County

Joint funeral services are planned Tuesday afternoon for Charles William Kirk and his daughter Nancy Louise Blake, murdered by Roy Lee Blake who died by suicide after the slayings. Kirk, 52, a timber worker, and Blake, 19, were members of Cotton Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include spouses, children, siblings, and grandchildren. Violence Merges Fatal Crashes and Drowning Incidents Across West Virginia

Three deaths are linked to separate incidents in West Virginia. Crotty, 20, from Matoaka died when his car hit a parked vehicle and crashed into a tree near Ivydale on West Virginia Route 4. Plane lands safely after overdue flight from London to Harrisburg

FAA officials said two private airplanes overdue from London Kentucky to Harrisburg Pennsylvania landed safely at Lancaster Pennsylvania. One craft a single engine Mooney Mark 21 was overdue and flown by a man identified only as Hoffman who departed London around 315 a.m. Sunday.

Wife Waives On Assault Charge In Colcord Case

Mrs Beulah Treadway 32 waived to the Raleigh County grand jury on a felonious assault charge after authorities say she shot her estranged husband Robert Treadway in Whitesville. He received treatment for a gunshot wound to the right thigh and was listed as in fair condition at Charleston Memorial Hospital. Deputy Asbury said the couple had been separated for two months and a dispute over altered checks led to the shooting after he allegedly attacked her and her mother. Police booked her on the felony assault charge and scheduled a hearing before Justice C E White at Colcord.
