Funeral set for Edwin Highlander in Alderson church

Edwin Highlander a 47 year old mine mechanic from Alderson Route 2 died after an automobile crash 26 hours earlier. Funeral services will be held at 2 p m tomorrow at Mt View Methodist Church with burial in Alderson Cemetery. Survived by widow Maude Highlander, his father and step mother, a sister, four daughters and four half brothers.

Alderson Woman Is Death Victim

Funeral rites were set for 2 p m today for Mrs. Jennie McCorkle Bare 74 who died at her Alderson home at 6 p m Sunday from a heart ailment after a three month illness. The Johnson Memorial Church service was to be led by Rev Forrest Reynolds with burial in Greenbrier Cemetery. Mrs Bare, widow of Wilkes W Barr Sr, belonged to Johnson Memorial Church and was the daughter of William and Mrs McCorkle. Surviving are sister Miss Edna McCorkle and five sons Minor Bare and Wilkes W Bare Jr both of Alderson.

Mallory Funeral to be Held in Hanover

Funeral services for Mrs. Luna Ivory Mallory 50 of Hanover will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Mallory residence with Rev. Frank Prater of Baileyaville officiating. Burial follows at Adams Cemetery. She died at 9:20 a.m. yesterday from cancer. Born March 12 1898 in Wyoming County she was the daughter of Iste Preston and Jerushan Christian. Surviving husband W. T. Mallory a stepson Herman C. Bailey sister Eva Cline and brother Franklin Christian.

Mullens Area Residents Plan Summer Moves to Tucson

Mrs. J A Gott of Mullens and Mrs Marian Vanover of Frantz Avenue will leave Mullens early this week to establish residences in Tucson Arizona with Vanover resigning after 13 years at the American Armature Company. Other local residents include Mr and Mrs John Miller and Mr and Mrs Robert Shumate with son John visiting Charleston, six Mullens women attending a fall seminar in Beckley, Sammy Farmer visiting Columbus Ohio for the weekend and WVU student Robert Lampton returning home from Morgantown for summer vacation before senior year in chemical engineering.

New Teachers Added To College Faculty At WV Tech

West Virginia Institute of Technology hires three new instructors approved by the State Board of Education. George P. Freeman comes from Ruston Louisiana as education psychology assistant professor, Frederic I Hand from Maywood Illinois as fine arts assistant professor, and Trene Nolan from Rianna Wisconsin as mathematics assistant professor. They replace William Roberts Robert Santer and Robert Luippold who resigned last spring. John Page Dies Rites Set Today

Alderson funeral services for John William Paige aged 70 will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church at 4 p.m. He died Sunday in a Clifton Forge, Virginia hospital after a four year illness from a heart condition.
