Oak Hill Legion To Hold Dance Oct 30
Red Devil Post 59 of the American Legion and the Womens Auxiliary plan a joint dance on October 30 at Oak Hill High School auditorium to raise funds for the school band and to support a memorial entrance to the Oak Hill recreation park. A musical program featuring Lost John and His Allied Kentuckians will be part of the event. Carol Lee Holliday has returned home from Montgomery Hospital after an appendicitis operation and resumed school after three weeks absent.

Funeral set for Mack Lee Long of Ingram Branch
Mack Lee Long 46 of Ingram Branch died at Oak Hill Hospital from a heart ailment. Funeral services will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Kincaid Methodist Church with interment at Highlawn Memorial Park. Long, a longtime Page barber, belonged to American Legion Post 137 and William N. Page Lodge 137. He was born February 22 1900 in Hillsboro WV and is survived by his wife Ora Minnie Long nine brothers two sons and a daughter.

Four Mullens liquor clerks reinstated after suspension
MULLENS The state liquor control commission reinstates four clerks at the Mullens store effective immediately. Ray Caldwell returns today while Oscar Pendry Claude Shumaie resume this afternoon at 3 pm and James Maynor begins Monday. The quartet and Manager Joe Jones were suspended October 15 on charges tied to commission regulations. The status is temporary until November 1 when a new manager is to be appointed. Jones had alleged suspensions stemmed from a refusal to donate to the Democratic campaign fund. A hearing at the Statehouse earlier this week featured only the four clerks. they denied improper sales and any threats of discharge for campaign donations.

Construction Worker Breaks Arm at Job Site
