Mullens Soldier's Unit Sets Record in Europe
Corporal William D Fay of Mullens, son of Mrs. Katie Foy, is with the combat support wing at an ammunition depot in England. The unit, part of the Air Service Command, set a European theatre record for unloading and delivering bombs, moving from railheads to airfields with fewer trucks than planned. They work around the clock to meet demand, sometimes hauling bombs directly from rail to bomber.
