Mullens Firemen Enroll for 28 Weeks of Training

Eight Mullens volunteer firemen join a 28 week course in firemanship and safety. Classes run Monday nights from now to spring with two hour sessions and six outdoor practice sessions. Clyde Newsome leads the course at 7 30 p m assisted by a deputy from the state marshal or School of Mines liaison.

Oak Hill Lodge Members To Attend Princeton Meet

Oak Hill Lodge 17 Knights of Pythias plans six members to attend a ceremonial in Princeton on October 23 to honor Grand Chancellor Fred Isaac. Attendees include W. T. Price Brainard Zink Clayton Pegram Dewey Lewis Ben Gooch and Dr H A Duncan. A dinner and jewel presentations follow October 26 at Pythian Hall with several 25 year and veteran Jewels awarded. Dr H A Duncan will show South America film. A $10 donation was made to Oak Hill Fire Department for an iron lung. Mrs John James reported on the Rainelle convention.

Doctors warn of required surgery as his condition fluctuates, with tubes draining infection and multiple blood transfusions ongoing. His unemployed father left Huntington to help, and mother and siblings bear daily caregiving and travel burdens amid mounting medical costs.
