MOUNDSVILLE AP The 83 year old John Toten died at the State Penitentiary after decades inside the facility. Convicted of first degree murder in 1916, he later violated parole, absconded to Pennsylvania, and was welcomed back by the prison. For 12 years he moved freely among inmates and staff, becoming a fixture. He died last week and body to be moved to the cemetery on prison grounds.
