Mrs Robert Parker Speaks to Garden Club on Wild Flowers
Mrs. Robert Parker addressed the Beckley Garden Club at the South Kanawha Street home of Dr. Theresa Edwards. She highlighted wild flowers as cultural inspiration and WV as a botanist’s paradise with over 200 wild flower families, noting areas like Grandview State Park and Glade Creek. She mentioned a possible county wild flower pilgrimage and referenced a Smoky Mountains pilgrimage attracting national and European naturalists. The group discussed conservation, and nominations were set for upcoming officers while planning attendances and a Christmas show.
