Woman Killed In Foggy Road Collision Near Charles Town
In fog on U S 340 near Charles Town a head on crash killed 54 year old Mrs Mary F Jackson of Harpers Ferry and injured two others. Her husband Daniel Jackson 61 suffered serious injuries and 18 year old Calvin Taylor of Harpers Ferry was in critical condition at Charles Town General Hospital. The other driver, 37 year old Joseph Ashby of Oakland Md, escaped injury after his tractor trailer collided with the Jackson car. Ashby pleaded no contest to negligent homicide and paid 110 dollars in fines and costs.
