Funeral services for Perry Judson Meadows held Tuesday

Funeral services for Perry Judson Meadows 80 of Glen Morgan will be held Tuesday at the Glen Morgan Community Church with Rev. Jack Maddy in charge. Burial follows at Phillips Cemetery Cool Ridge. Meadows died Sunday night in a Beckley hospital after a long illness. He was born January 19 1892 in Cool Ridge a WWI veteran and retired stone mason. He is survived by his wife Lillie Meadows Glen Morgan one son Clyde five daughters and many relatives. Friends may call at Rose des Quesenberry Funeral Home after 6 pm.

Funeral services for 33 year old Shelby Jean Roberts of Richmond Virginia were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of God in Josephine with burial in an Odd Cemetery. One Pact Signed In Hawaii Strike

Striking longshoremen in Honolulu announced a pact with Seatrain Lines, ending the first major Hawaii dock strike since 1949.
