District meet attendees gathered at the lodge hall for a 3 p.m. session with dinner served by the Pythian Sisters at the Methodist Church. Earl C. Schrader opened the meeting, with William Price presiding as grand secretary. The Oak Hill lodge will host the next convention April 17 with afternoon district and night initiation meetings.

Virginia county to use 418 acres for educational center
Uncle Sam has given 418 acres of land and a hospital to Virginia and Augusta County for an educational center. It would be the Woodrow Wilson Army General Hospital of World War II, costing the government 250,000. Rev. Nelson Treadway and Rev. H Cools will alternate Sundays as pastor with services at 7 p.m. and Sunday school at 10:30 a.m. Ronnie and Tex Williams visited Concord and Beckley Colleges while staying with their parents.
