Sherman High School senior class presents a three act mystery comedy Creepers with fourteen students in roles led by Hercules Nelson played by Frankie Childers and Wilbur Maxwell by Eddie Cooper. George Lawrence 77 died at his Simon home at 4 a.m. Monday. Born June 1 1880 in Simon, he was son of Joseph and Mary Cline Lawrence. The Public Service Commission approved a Southern Public Service Co rate increase for 4761 Logan customers across Montgomery Madison and Milton vicinities in Fayettel Kanawha Cabell counties. A $10,000 bond is required to cover a potential refund if United Fuel Gas Co or Hope Natural Gas Co do not get PSC approval. Rites Thursday For Mullens Man

Oscar William Andrews 75 a former Virginian Railway pipefitter died about 8 am today at his South Mullens home from a severe asthma attack He was born April 30 1882 in Greenville NC and lived in Mullens since 1917 He is survived by three sons three daughters a sister and 15 grandchildren The funeral is set for Thursday at 1 pm at Mullens First Methodist Church with burial at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Beckley Pallbearers are Earl Collins Earl Elmore John Bradbury Zak Lawson N W McGhee and Sam Farley.

Suzanna Wesley Circle of the First Methodist Church Pineville met at Mrs Bruno Paris home with co host Mrs Joseph Bragg. Mrs William Nixon and Mrs John Seolers led the program and business session. Turkey Banquet Planned by WSCS in Veville

Wyoming Case to Be Reviewed by State Supreme Court

The State Supreme Court will review an $8,000 Wyoming County verdict against Crozer Coal and Land Co for trespass linked to strip mining near Oceana. The case stems from 22 heirs of Mrs. Mary E. Brows. The court also granted review of a $33,000 Baker verdict in Nicholas County over an explosion that destroyed Hollis Mullins’ store in Dille on Oct 7, 1955, citing insufficient evidence of negligence and cause.
