62 Year Old Clear Fork Woman Nets One Ton of Turkey Meat
Mrs. A. W. Toney of Harper Route 1 raised 92 turkeys averaging 18 pounds each, about a ton of meat, for Beckley shoppers this Thanksgiving. She feeds them 14 gallons of water daily and 1½ bushels of corn plus apples, with help from grandson Dilly Stover. The Toneys, on a 500 acre farm, also farm 150 chickens, cattle, sheep, hogs, bees, crops, a grist mill, and military sons in service.
