An ex convict was charged after he and a missing 13 year old Charleston girl were spotted in a car on U S 60 east of the city. Hugh C Goff 38 of Louisville Kentucky carried a loaded revolver when police forced him to the roadside at 1 15 am EST. He was with Edna Marie Means reported missing and possibly held against her will. Goff said he had been paroled from a Kentucky prison last January after serving about 10 years of a life term for armed robbery and had arrived in Charleston only Sunday morning. He was charged with carrying a concealed public safety item and parole violation with possible other charges including taking away. His car trunk held burglary tools. He said he drove toward Lookout Fayette then back toward Charleston before hearing a statewide alert on his car radio. Police said he changed license plates from Ohio to Kentucky tags and was headed for Kentucky when caught.
