Mount Hope officials propose inviting District 29 United Mine Workers to relocate offices to Mount Hope, offering suitable space and urging cooperation. The council also discusses school safety, increased patrols, speeding fines for out of town drivers, and water system upgrades for Kilsyth and Price Hill.

Woman Found on Road Identifies Self in Hospital

A 23-year-old woman found unconscious beside the Bluefield Princeton highway in Mercer County identified herself as Miss Cleda Parker of Mullens. Police say she was treated at Bluefield Sanitarium for a condition possibly caused by sleeping tablet overdose and left the hospital Sunday afternoon. Mullens police had not received any report on the incident.

Two Initiated At OES Meeting In Pineville

Concord Students Attend Huntington Federation Meeting

Concord College students attended the West Virginia Federation of College Students events at Marshall College last Thursday through Saturday. Mollahan Rites Held at Richwood

Funeral services for Frank Mollahan age 40 were held in Richwood after he died Thursday in a Baltimore hospital. Burial took place in Richwood Cemetery. Survived by son Jimmy. father C. E. Mollahan. four brothers John Robert Paul Elliot. three sisters Alice Hall Delphia Clake and Carrie Griffey.

Groves Infant Dies in Charleston Hospital

Funeral services for Jenny Sue Groves one month old daughter of Mr and Mrs Bill Groves of Widen were held in Rose Cemetery. The infant died Sunday in a Charleston hospital. she is survived by her parents, maternal grandparents Russell Ramsey, and paternal grandmother Gladys Groves of Widen.

Mullens Miner Hurt In Black Eagle Mine

Mullens Carl Rufus, a brakeman for Jones and Laughlin Coal, was injured at the Black Eagle operation yesterday. A part of one finger was amputated at Taylor Hospital after the two middle fingers on his left hand were crushed between mine cars while coupling. Rites Held for Shotgun Victim Ruby Green

Funeral services were held for seven year old Ruby Mae Green of Bergoo after a shotgun discharge by her brother Roland killed her Saturday night. Princeton man fined for driving while intoxicated

Tommy George Stewart of 208 Halifax Street Bluefield was fined 50 dollars after pleading guilty to driving white intoxicated following a Sunday arrest when his car struck another on the Princeton Beckley road near the city limits. George Hazelwood of Elgood was fined 50 dollars and costs for selling whiskey in the same court.
