Board fines suspend Ripley Spencer Halls game relations to 1958
The West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission suspended athletic relations between Ripley and Spencer high schools until September 1958 after a melee interrupted a Ripley football game. Ripley was fined 50 dollars and Spencer 75 dollars. The game was not completed but records show a 187 Spencer victory. Additional actions included forfeitures for Guyan Valley, Williamson and Bradshaw due to ineligible players and residency issues.
