Motorist Killed After Wild Chase
In Bakersfield California a motorist who was stopped for speeding shot and wounded a policeman then died after a 120 mile per hour pursuit. The chase ended when the fleeing car crashed into a patrol vehicle and overturned. Robert Clarke 22 of Whittier was killed. Officers Jack Rummel 50 and David Asrey 28 pursued and returned fire.
