Murder Ends Drink Spree in Baileyville
Andy Cook, 39, of Laurel Branch near Baileyville, was killed by a shotgun blast at his home Sunday night. State Police say his stepson, Charles Martin, 17, shot him in the head after Cook threatened to kill his wife and nine children during a drinking spree. Martin was arrested about 1 a.m. and jailed in Pineville awaiting a Tuesday hearing. Cook worked for Northfork and Western Railway at Oceana. Funeral plans are incomplete.
