Three Drown In Two State Boat Mishaps
United Press International reports two separate drownings in West Virginia and an elderly man missing after a fishing boat capsized on the South Branch of the Potomac River near Romney. Myrl Wears 18 and Robert Adams 27, both from Pliny, died in Sand Creek while Sewage project workers were pulled under in Raw Tenswood. Police say Wears fell from a cable-pulling boat and Adams died in a rescue attempt. John Gemma 75 disappeared as his boat overturned but two companions survived.
