Noted Author Wiggam Talks on Women and Poetry
Mr. Wiggam opened his lecture by blasting loose talk about the American woman and urged critics be clobbered back. He warned of a poverty of poetry in life and urged turning to poets for a lasting view of humanity. He cited Anne Frank, Dickinson, Millay, Bradstreet, Brooks, and Rich, read two of his poems, and urged women to seek respect as individuals through their writings. The Beckley Curtain Callers were praised for their theatre work and community support.
