Oak Hill Senior Women Sponsor Delegate to Girls State

Nancy Walton, daughter of Mrs Mary Walton, will be sponsored to Girls State by the Oak Hill Senior Woman's Club at Hotel Hill before the meet. Members are reminded this important meeting since new officers are to be elected and plans for the fall campaign were announced at Tuesday night’s gathering.

Memorial Day Program Slated In Surrett Lemon Cemetery

Memorial Day services are planned Sunday June 1 at Surrett Lemon Cemetery. Speakers include Rev Wade Webber Rev Denver Dickens and Dr C G Eastwood who speaks on Religion Over the World. American Legion Auxiliary increases delegates and local plans include a West Virginia Dinner at Hotel Hill with Hubert Boothe Jr. as guest speaker. Beta Club organized at Sherman High School Seth with Tommie Knight as sponsor and a large list of members. Oak Hill Publican Woman's Club meets June 11. Blues King case in federal court. Sophomore class of Clear Fork hosts a Wiener roast. many community notices follow.

Mr. Hope's Mayor Elected to Post At State Meeting

The Grand Commandery Knights Templar of West Virginia held its 16th annual conclave in Clarksburg with about 300 attendees. Arthur C. Stroehman of Parkersburg was elected grand commander, with Williams W. Powell of Clarksburg stepping down and other officers named. Parkersburg will host next year's meeting on May 20.

McGraw Funeral Rites Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Priscilla Jane McGraw 9 will be held at 20 p.m. Saturday in James Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. A. L. Dorsey officiating. Interment at Pipestem Cemetery follows. She resided in Pipestem 25 years and is survived by husband Joel McGraw, a daughter Mrs. E. T. Edwards, sons O. L. McGraw and Tracy McGraw, brothers Howard and Amos Brown, sister Mrs. Caroline Cook, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Mine Victim's Rites Saturday at Minden Church

Funeral services for Garland Walcliffe Crone of Minden will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Minden Community Church, with burial at Hilltop Cemetery. Crone died in the Minden mine when a cable snapped, breaking his neck. He belonged to Monse Lodge 1863 and the United Mine Workers of America.

Summer Program Set By Community Group Wreck Victim's Funeral Today

Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. for George C. Hemine 20 of Comfort who died Wednesday in a Charleston hospital from injuries after a car ran into a ditch and overturned on Route 3 near Cooperstown. Rites in Seth Church of God and burial in Hale Cemetery Comfort.
